After spending some time abroad and building a background in branding and business psychology, I wanted a role that combined my passion for events with my marketing expertise. we.CONECT stood out for its specialized tech conferences — covering topics like AI, Big Data, and virtual workplaces. I joined as a Senior Marketing Manager, taking on the challenge of promoting many niche events at once.
Our main goal was to increase attendee numbers and build trust in fast-growing areas like software asset management, enterprise IT, and AI.
I found it especially exciting that we.CONECT manages the full conference process — from program planning to marketing and sales — letting me see how good marketing directly influences ticket sales and participant engagement.
I oversaw 14 different conferences, including SAMS (Software Asset Management Strategies), the Virtual Workplace Evolution series, and "I'm AI" the leading AI conference in Germany. My core tasks involved email marketing, content creation, and partnership building. By working closely with our sales team, we made sure that each marketing campaign matched new speaker announcements and conference updates, while avoiding sending the same messages too many times to the same contacts.
Because many conferences happened in parallel, I had to balance SEO tactics, newsletters, and on-site video work — all under tight schedules.
A favorite part of my job was recording expert interviews to enrich conference content. Our small marketing team handled everything from planning and filming to editing and publishing. Even with limited resources, we kept our brand voice consistent across all events. We also improved how we used our CRM system to reduce unwanted emails and boost our lead conversion rate.
Several conferences — especially SAMS Germany and "I'm AI" — sold out or even went beyond their ticket targets. This success showed the power of well-timed emails and a personal approach to potential attendees. Our video interviews and thought-leadership pieces also helped we.CONECT gain respect in specialized fields like AI and IT compliance.
By successfully managing 14 events at once, we strengthened we.CONECT’s reputation for delivering top-quality, content-driven conferences in emerging tech sectors.
Personally, this role taught me how to stay organized under pressure, run marketing campaigns across multiple brands, and present ideas clearly — both on camera and to my colleagues. It also reinforced the value of trusting team members to do their jobs well, a lesson I’ve carried into all my future projects in marketing and branding.
